Carlsbad Chamber Announces Rising Star of the Year Scholarship Recipients

Carlsbad, CA (May3, 2024) – In September, 2023 the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce launched its fifth Rising Star of the Month program via the Carlsbad Chamber Community Foundation.  Throughout the school year over 35 high school seniors from six different high schools were recognized for demonstrating character, integrity, love of learning, involvement in school and community activities and/or the ability to overcome challenging life circumstances without compromising their education.  Those students were eligible to apply for the Rising Star of the Year $1,500 scholarships. The winners of the 2023-24 Rising Star of the Year scholarships are:

·      Rachel Kann - Carlsbad High School

·      Sofia Tamayo - Carlsbad High School

·      Ash Bering - Carlsbad High School

·      Brandon Faulkner – Carlsbad High School

·      Sophia Hersh - Sage Creek High School

·      Callia Chon - Sage Creek High School

·      Abigail Gehris - Sage Creek High School

·      Michelle Antonio - Sage Creek High School

·      Ava Lee - La Costa Canyon High School

·      Marelyn Catano - Carlsbad Seaside Academy

These ten students will be honored on May 21, 2024 at 8:00 at a breakfast hosted at the Holiday Inn, Carlsbad.  Community members are welcome to attend, cost is $35.00/person.  Click here to register.
